Dr. Larry J. Moray brings a unique perspective to his practice. His life philosophy has been to enjoy the richness of life’s many experiences, and this permeates all his endeavors. Dr. Moray moved to Chapel Hill in 1979, entering a Ph.D. program in neurobiology.
He later completed dental training at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Dentistry and spent one year in a hospital dental residency in Hampton, Virginia. Dr. Moray taught at the VCU/MCV School of Dentistry and managed the hospital dental clinic at MCV Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia from 1991 to 1994.
Following graduation from his orthodontic residency at UNC in 1997, Dr. Moray opened our first office at Preston Corners. The Happy Tooth has grown tremendously under his guidance and our team of dental professionals now serves ten communities throughout North Carolina.
Dr. Mel is dedicated to making each of her patients as happy and as comfortable as possible. She deems it a personal challenge to work with fearful patients to understand their needs and to change their perceptions about dentistry. While Dr. Mel enjoys restoring and extracting teeth, she especially enjoys esthetic dentistry including prosthetic dentistry (crowns, bridges, partial and full dentures, as well as implant restoration), smile restoration, and limited orthodontics (such as Clear Correct and Invisalign).
Dr. Mel’s hobbies include fishing, basketball, reading, and traveling. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, National Dental Association, and the Old North State chapter of the North Carolina Dental Society.
Dr. Garcia, a native of Puerto Rico, received his DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras in 1987. He practiced dentistry in his private practice in Puerto Rico until 2007.
In March 2007, he and his family moved to North Carolina and he has been practicing dentistry in the Tar Heel State for 11 years now. During his last tenure, he focused seven of those years on working with children and young adults. He now practices family dentistry, increasing the spectrum of help in meeting the whole family’s dental needs.
During his time off, he enjoys family time with his wife Susan. They enjoy cooking and traveling. They love to visit their adult children and granddaughter. They are looking forward to becoming more involved in their community and helping others.

Dr. Gisela Borget was born in Jalisco, Mexico. She grew up in Utah. She attended the University of Utah for her undergraduate studies and then received her D.D.S. from the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill.
After dental school, she went on to complete an orthodontic residency and earn a Master of Science at the University of Iowa. Dr. Borget is married and has two kids, a 4-year-old son, and a 1-month-old daughter.
When not practicing orthodontics, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Borget speaks Spanish fluently and is very excited to work with families in the Burgaw area!.
Dr. Min Shin is originally from South Korea and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. In addition to the completion of her dental education, Dr. Shin worked as a research assistant in a biochemistry lab at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville after graduating from UNC-Greensboro with M.S. in Biology.
As a result, Dr. Shin has a strong background in cutting-edge scientific research and practical application. Her research culminated in the publication of an article in a major research journal. She enjoys working with all age groups, and providing high-quality dentistry to best suit the individual needs of the patient, in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
She has been volunteering to help refugees and the under-served at the Luke Charity Clinic in Raleigh once a month. She is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Society, and the General Dentistry Study Club.
Dr. Shin has been married to her husband, Dr. Sae Kim for 10 years. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys traveling, camping and baking.
Dr. Neill is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with highest honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and later went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree where he finished in the top of his class. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado Denver earning both a Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Science Degree.
Dr. Neill spent his first few years after training as an associate working in the Philadelphia area. He attends yearly continuing education courses at the Orthodontic National Convention and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Southern Association of Orthodontics, as well as a number of regional and local professional organizations.
Dr. Neill was recently married and is moving to North Carolina to build a family and practice closer to home. He cherishes the time he is able to spend with his family and friends as well as numerous outdoor activities including snow skiing, waterskiing, hiking, climbing and whitewater rafting.
Dr. Neill is excited about being in Wake Forest and can’t wait to meet all of you!
Dr. Soltmann, a native of Germany, has lived in the Triangle area since 1979. After graduating with degrees in chemistry and microbiology, she received her DDS degree from the UNC School of Dentistry.
Upon completion of her orthodontic residency from the UNC School of Dentistry, she joined the faculty at UNC Department of Orthodontics for two years. She has been treating patients in Raleigh since 1991 in her own private practice.
Concurrently, Dr. Soltmann has also been serving as adjunct faculty in the UNC Department of Orthodontics, where her main focus is the orthodontic treatment and rehabilitation of patients with cleft lip and palate.
Dr. Soltmann is an award-winning quilter. When she doesn’t sit at her sewing machine she loves to read and participate in citizen science projects. She has two adult sons, both of whom inherited her interest in science, and are aerospace engineers. Dr. Soltmann is excited about being in Roanoke Rapids and Greensboro and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
Dr. Ruiz received his undergraduate degree as an honor student in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued his DMD at the University of Puerto Rico – Medical Science Campus. Dr. Ruiz led the Dental Student Council as President and finished in the top 10% of his class.
He continued on with a General Practice Residency at Tufts University, an Orthodontics Research Fellowship at the University of Connecticut, and earned his Certificate in Orthodontics from Jacksonville University.
As an active member of The American Association of Orthodontics, Dr. Ruiz stays committed to keeping with the latest philosophies and techniques of the Orthodontics specialty.
Dr. Ruth attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for his undergrad, earning a BA in chemistry with a minor in biology. It was during this time that he developed a love for applied sciences and helping people achieve overall health.
Dr. Ruth moved to Richmond upon graduation and joined the dental program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Following dental school, he began working towards his orthodontic certification at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education in Missouri. Dr. Ruth is passionate about giving back to the community.
He has generously donated his time over the years, providing dental care for at-risk youth and families who lack finances for routine dental care.
Dr. Christina Quarterman is originally from Daytona Beach, Fl. She grew up in the office of her mother, Dr. Robbin Quarterman, who has been a general dentist in Daytona Beach for over 30 years. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for dentistry and people.
Dr. Quarterman attended Florida State University where she majored in Real Estate and Small Business Management. She completed her dental training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. While at Meharry she served as Student Government Executive Vice President, as well as Senior Class President.
After dental school, she went on to complete a residency at Howard University in Washington, DC, where she obtained a Certificate in Orthodontics. During her tenure at Howard, Dr. Quarterman completed a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya, where she and friends helped to build a library at one of the local schools. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, playing tennis and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles.
